Dell confirms cut-price ‘netbook’ plans

Dell has thrown down the ‘netbook’ gauntlet to Asus, MSI and HP after confirming plans for a cut-price mini-notebook on the company’s blog
The PC manufacturer made the official announcement after chief executive Michael Dell was seen brandishing a mini-laptop at this week’s All Things Digital conference in Carlsbad, California. Read the rest of this entry »

Via Nano takes on Intel Atom

Intel atomChip maker Via has launched the latest range of processors based on its Isaiah architecture.
The Via Nano range promises up to four times the performance of the existing Via C7 processor family while remaining within the same power range.
Via Nano is also pin compatible with C7 processors allowing them to be used in existing motherboards and integrated systems. Read the rest of this entry »
