Asus laptops to offer ‘instant-on’ Linux

Written by Guy Dixon ; An ‘instant-on’ version of Linux from US-based firm DeviceVM will soon appear on Asus laptops alongside Windows Vista.

Acer unveils Aspire One ‘netbook’

The Aspire One is a low cost computer designed to compete with the Asus Eee PC and the OLPC.

Intel to sell to mobile market

Intel’s chief executive Paul Otellini has outlined plans for the chip maker to move into selling its products to the mobile phone market.
As mobile phones become more like PCs, Intel believes it can bring its expertise to bear in the sector.

Dell confirms cut-price ‘netbook’ plans

Dell has thrown down the ‘netbook’ gauntlet to Asus, MSI and HP after confirming plans for a cut-price mini-notebook on the company’s blog

Ultra-Portable Laptop only $299 By 3K (Razorbook 400 Mini)

Cmpetition in the ultra mobile PC space is heating up with the introduction of a $299 device from US custom computer manufacturer 3k Computers.
The RazorBook 400 Mini Notebook Ultra Mobile PC weighs just under 2lbs and includes a 7in LCD TFT display and a full-size keyboard.
